Riley graduated from Montana State University with a degree in elementary education in May of 2017. During her time in college, she worked at Heritage as the after school program teacher as well as a tutor. She also completed her student teaching at Heritage in 3rd grade with Mrs. Kauffman. She is incredibly excited for her first year of teaching and to continue getting to know students in all elementary grades through tutoring.
Riley has been married to her wonderful husband, Dylan, for 2 years. Together they enjoy running, hiking, traveling, cooking, skiing, spending time with family, cheering for the Bobcats, and helping with High School youth group at their church.

Debbie Kaufmann

Mrs. Debbie Kaufmann holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Eastern Connecticut State University and a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction from Lesley University. Debbie taught for eight years in the first and second grades in a public school in Connecticut, and has taught third grade at Heritage Christian School since fall 2007. Debbie’s interests include cross-country skiing, camping, and doodling with various art projects.

Nicole is very excited that the Lord has given her the opportunity to be the first grade teacher at Heritage Christian School! Nicole is a Michigan native. She graduated with honors in 1993 from Adrian College with a Bachelor of Arts and an elementary teaching certificate. Nicole received her Master’s degree in the Teaching of Reading from Western Michigan University in 1999. Nicole has taught in both Christian and public schools as well as lots of years teaching Sunday School, VBS and Kinder-Gym.
After five years of teaching in the classroom, the Lord had other life changing adventures for Nicole and her husband Chris! They moved from Michigan to Montana and were expecting their first daughter! The Lord has blessed them with a trio of daughters and 23 years of marriage! Nicole enjoyed many years of being a stay-at-home mom and now the blessing of being a classroom teacher again! When Nicole’s not in her classroom, you will find her cheering on her daughters at dance class, the ski hill or the track field. She enjoys reading, baking, playing games, hanging out with her family, traveling and coffee!

Sarahanne Ortman

Sarahanne graduated from Montana State University in the Spring of 2015 with a BS in Elementary Education and an Honors college degree. Before and during her college years she enjoyed working with and teaching children in many different capacities, including camps, Sunday School, tutoring in the school system, and student teaching for 1st grade. She also pursued her passion for missions by helping start an international student ministry through InterVarsity (a campus ministry).

After graduating from MSU she married the handsomest man in Bozeman, Dustin Ortman. She spent the following year on staff as an administrator for Venture Church in Bozeman, and substitute teaching in local schools. In her free time, Sarahanne loves to play music with her husband, explore and learn about new cultures, enjoy God’s beautiful creation through hiking, rock climbing, and skiing, and curl up with an exciting or thought provoking book with a giant mug of tea and a fuzzy blanket!

Noah Phillips

Mr. Phillips feels God has blessed him incredibly by being the fourth grade teacher at HCS. In December of 2015, he graduated from Montana State University with a BS in Elementary Education and a minor in history teaching. During college, God opened up his eyes and heart to His will, and allowed him to serve in college ministry through a local church. Around this same time, God led him to pursue a degree in education so that he could serve the Lord by sharing the truth, love, and joy of Christ and the gospel with kids.
In the fall of 2015, he completed his student teaching at Heritage Christian School in the fourth and eighth grade classroom and spent time the following spring subbing primarily in the secondary at HCS. Other than teaching, he loves to: serve at his church, everything football related, working out, hunting, fishing, camping, boating, and road trips.

Michele Shea

Michele is the mother of three great kids and wife to a great husband and builder, Jeremy Shea for over 23 years! She graduated from MSU Bozeman in 1996 with her BS in Elementary Education. After graduation she substitute taught for a semester for all the grades through 8th grade until landing a position teaching 4th/5th grade in a small private Christian school. The next venture was a break from teaching and on to raising kids.
Michele has seemingly always been involved with teaching kids in one manner or another between her own kids, camps, Sunday School, AWANA, Children’s Church, VBS, and preschool. Now it is Kindergarten teacher also! Michele can’t imagine ever not being involved in Children’s ministry too! Her kids tell her that her hobbies are watching Soccer, Volleyball, and Basketball games, which is where you will usually find her when not teaching!

Tricia Stutterheim

Miss Stutterheim is a 2010 honors graduate of Montana State University with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. In addition, Tricia attended Ecola Bible School in Cannon Beach, Oregon, where she was recognized as a high honors graduate in biblical studies.

Stephanie Swanson

Miss Stephanie Swanson graduated with honors from Montana State University in December 2005, and teaches second grade. She has also taught first grade as well as a first and second combined class at Heritage. Miss Swanson did her student teaching at Kentview Christian School in Auburn, Washington, and has worked as a teacher at Sage Learning Center.

Rick Gillis

Mr. Gillis holds multiple advanced degrees in biology and microbiology including a PhD in molecular microbiology from the University of Rochester. He has a very diverse background, having worked in both the medical device and aerospace manufacturing industries in the realm of applied science and engineering at the corporate level for over 25 years. Throughout his career, he has also been involved with diverse research teams at various academic institutions and has authored multiple scientific publications. He is now semi-retired and welcomes the opportunity to share his experience and passion of science and math to help prepare the next generation of students with God-honoring skills in these disciplines.

Ray Gossack

Mr. Ray Gossack teaches 7th Bible, 8th Math, 7th Life Science, 10th Biology as well as the secondary elective of Strength and Conditioning. Mr. Ray Gossack holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Montana State University with a Fish and Wildlife Management option as well as a Biology teaching option. Mr. Gossack also holds a second Bachelor of Science degree from Montana State in Secondary Education General Science Broadfield.
Ray has been teaching junior high science, math and Bible at HCS for twenty-six years and has seen God grow the school from 6th grade to 12th grade. Ray loves being with his family. When they are not at school you might find Ray and his family camping, fishing, hunting, cross-country skiing, working on house projects, or shooting hoops in the driveway.

Anthony Howell

Anthony Howell is teaching 12th Grade Bible, Secondary Math, Science and 9th PE, he is also the Guidance Counselor at HCS. He was born and raised in Bozeman and attended HCS from K-8. He graduated from Montana State with a degree in Secondary Education – General Science. After teaching at a Christian School in Idaho Falls, Idaho for two years, he returned home to Bozeman and HCS for the 2015-2016 school year.

Anthony and his wife Katie have two young sons and can often be found playing in the Montana backcountry, cheering on the Bobcats, and enjoying family life at home.

Jesse Kemp

Mr. Jesse Kemp is teaching 9th Grade Bible, Secondary English and 12th Grade Rhetoric. Jesse is also the Student Government Faculty Advisor. He was born and raised in San Diego, CA and began his college career at San Diego State. Upon transferring to the University of Montana, he enrolled in the Phyllis J. Washington School of Education and pursued his teaching degree. He received his bachelor’s degree and graduated with highest honors in 2013.
He has previously served as an assistant pastor, youth director, English teacher and special education paraprofessional. He is currently pursuing an MA in Biblical and Theological studies from Western Theological Seminary in Portland OR. Jesse and his wife Megan have two children, Kellan and Marian. As a family, they enjoy all things outdoors and football-related. He is honored to be serving the Lord at Heritage Christian School.

Mrs. Linda Kneeland holds an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Chemeketa Community College, a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and History, and a Master of Arts in History, both from from Montana State University. Mrs. Kneeland has over fifteen years of teaching experience in public and private schools and has been at HCS since 2003. Mrs. Kneeland has five children and enjoys traveling, Taekwondo, distance running, and hiking. Mrs. Kneeland has been leading the 8th grade DC trip for over ten years.

Mrs. Margaret Robertus graduated summa cum laude from Western Montana College with a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education (K-8) and a minor in reading (K-12/graduate program). She has over thirty years of teaching experience in public and private schools (including thirteen years as a homeschool educator) and has served as a reading and math specialist, teaching mentor, private tutor, and an editor. Margaret has been involved in ministry for many years as a Sunday school, AWANA, and VBS teacher.

Mrs. Williamson is beginning her sixth year at Heritage. Although she is not new to us, she is new this year to our junior high and high school staff. She is teaching seventh grade Algebra 1/2, eighth grade Earth Science, ninth grade Physical Science, tenth grade Algebra II, and eleventh grade Accounting/Personal Finance. Mrs. Williamson has a bachelor’s of science degree from Southeastern Oklahoma University. She has been teaching and/or coaching for the past twenty years in Montana, Oklahoma, and Texas. Her favorite verse is Jeremiah 29:11 – “I know the plans I have for you'” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.”

Mrs. Julie Gossack holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Montana State University, a K-12 Library Endorsement, and a Master’s of Education in Curriculum & Instruction, also from Montana State University. Mrs. Gossack has served as the school’s librarian since 2003. Julie is married to her high school sweetheart, Ray Gossack, who is also an HCS staff member. Together they have three sons who have attended HCS since Kindergarten. Julie’s hobbies include running, biking, cross-country skiing, camping, and attending HCS Falcon sporting events.

Mary Heide

Mrs. Mary Heide holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from Montana State University, and has been at HCS since 2001. Mary has 24 years of teaching experience in public and private schools, and has also taught pre-schoool music, private voice and piano lessons, and currently teaches vocal music at Montana Bible College. Besides music, Mary enjoys hiking, reading, and cheering on the Falcons.

Landa Heys

Landa Heys has been a part of the Heritage family since 2008 when her children began attending HCS and she started serving with PTF, Moms in Touch prayer ministry, and helping in the classrooms. Mrs. Heys began tutoring at HCS in 2010 in the area of Spanish, and took over the role of Spanish and Latin teacher in 2012 upon the departure of the previous Spanish teacher. Mrs. Heys has a degree in Sociology with a minor in Spanish. Her interest in teaching began while offering free English classes to the Hispanic community at a neighborhood church in Chandler, Arizona. She has continued her education with regard to both Spanish language and teaching and is currently ACSI certified to teach.

Amber Lundskog

Originally from San Diego, California, Amber completed her undergraduate and Master’s degree from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee while on a golf scholarship. She came to Montana in May 2012 to serve as a summer missionary and God opened the door to remain in Bozeman.
She is currently the Athletic Director at Heritage Christian School while also working with EPIC Ministries through New Beginnings Church, which focuses on reaching students for Christ through recreational activities, and during the summer working at Bridger Creek Golf Course helping with their lesson programs. Her greatest desire is to know Christ and make Him known by studying His Word and living intentionally. God has also given her a huge passion for overseas missions as she has traveled to Central America five times as well as Europe to share the Gospel. She is currently taking classes in Liberty University’s online seminary program in Global Studies. Amber loves engaging in gospel centered conversation, sports, anything outdoors and traveling!

Kimberly Wielenga

Mrs. Kimberly Wielenga holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Montana State, and has taught band at HCS since 2004. In addition to her teaching responsibilities at Heritage, Kimberly also taught private music lessons and directed homeschool music groups in the past. Some of her favorite activities are hanging out with her family, backpacking, hiking, and reading.
